Nine Oaks Housing Trust Limited

Looking for sheltered accommodation or respite accommodation in Windermere?  Then look no further!

The Nine Oaks Housing Charitable Trust was formed in 2008 (although our roots run back to 1969 when we were part of Abbeyfield) to offer support to those who weren’t quite able to live on their own and needed some support.  We presently have 3 volunteer Trustees who are responsible to the residents and their families for running the two houses, Nine Oaks and Thornton House, together with a manager, Lynn, and other fantastic staff.  We always welcome volunteers and help, so please let us know if you have a few hours spare per month!

Each resident has their own studio or apartment within one of the two buildings and are able to come and go as they please.  Two freshly prepared meals a day are provided and support and assistance can be arranged by the resident if required.

Our studios and apartments are well catered, often with fridge, microwave, hobs.  With gorgeous views looking out on to the gardens, we really are a gem!

Activities and events are planned throughout the year, with a weekly ‘Knit and Natter’ club, regular coffee mornings and music recitals.  Residents are encouraged to give their ideas to the manager so that we can support what they want.
